Google Analytics has introduced a feature called Google Signals to enhance cross-device remarketing and reporting. By taking advantage of this new advertising feature, this new Google product allows users to better understand their customers across each device.

Existing Google Analytics advertising features will be upgraded as soon as the user activates Google Signals which will include data from Google users who have their Ads Personalisation turned on.

This Ads Personalisation setting allows the search engine to use basic information to personalise ads that are displayed to them. Users who have their Ads Personalisation switched on give Google an understanding of how users interact across multiple devices, allowing them to estimate from the data gathered the cross-device behaviour of your entire user base.

REMARKETING WITH GOOGLE ANALYTICS

You can serve ads in cross device-eligible remarketing campaigns to Google users with their Ads Personalisation switched on.

ADVERTISING REPORTING FEATURES

Google Analytics will be able to gather additional information and data about users with their Ads Personalisation activated.

DEMOGRAPHICS AND INTEREST REPORTS

Google Analytics will be able to gather additional information from users with those who have their Ads Personalisation turned on, about their demographic.

CROSS DEVICE REPORTS (IN BETA)

Google Analytics will be able to model behaviour for your whole user base across different devices, based upon aggregated data gathered from users with their Ads Personalisation switched on.

You can activate Google Signals by following the steps below:

1) Sign into Google Analytics
2) Click “GET STARTED” in the blue notification banner at the top of the page or, navigate to Property Column > Tracking Info > Data Collection and follow the prompt in the blue dialog box.
