Google has confirmed it will roll out an update to its mobile-friendly algorithm in May - more than a year after it was first introduced.
The search engine giant launched ‘Mobilegeddon’, as it became known in April, 2015, which was aimed at making sites become responsive to mobile.
Sites that did not become mobile-friendly were warned that they would be affected in mobile search results although not desktop search results.
With more and more people accessing the internet on their phone every day this led to a surge of businesses changing their sites to a Responsive Web Design (RWD).
