An exciting new development by Google My Business is being tested this month which lets potential customers communicate with a business via live chat direct from a local listing in Google search or Google Maps.
The feature is currently in the pilot stage which allows Google to iron out any bumps and make any developments before it goes live to all businesses. A select number of businesses have been contacted to participate at this early trial stage.
All organisations taking part have been provided with guidelines and advice on how to use the feature successfully. Each company has been asked to supply a phone number which can receive SMS messages and to be ready to respond promptly to customers queries as they start to come through live.
